Despite my dissapointment with "The Door", their latest release, I love the energy in this live track by Religious Knives from their Live @ Big Jar Books recording. It's not them at their freakout finest, but it's still got something to it which keeps me playing it again and again and again.

I am not a robot
[2008.11.25] I had a rather strange exchange with a random stranger via iChat earlier, and it seems I did not pass the turing test. They didn't either...
The other party will remain anonymous, though please comment/contact if you have the same thing, I'm intrigued. I'm particularly pleased to know that in the future only robots will use proper punctuation.
Transcript (they are in bold):

The Open Rights Group: Join 'em!
[2008.11.19] I knew I was one of the Open Rights Groups founding 1000, but didn't realise I was #54.
They need a lot more support to help protect our rights anywhere our information is used and abused digitally. If you can spare some money, please donate, and they'll make sure our government doesn't run astray with bizzare legislation, or allow corporations to take advantage of our digital minutae, especially without being honest and open about it.

Part 6: myvillages.org/public works: Village Produce Films
[2008.11.14]
Exploring the stories behind comunity produced goods, alternative channels of distribution and the value of goods we have now added the Village Produce Films produced by myvillages.org and public works to the growing body of work that was Agrifashionista.TV and is now ToadBall.TV
These films are part of an ongoing body of work, which has crossed over with Somewhere, Grizedale Arts and Nomad as they start create a network of Village Kiosks selling local produce, a network that anyone can join and evolve over time.

minutiae
[2008.11.08] Following my explusion from Facebook and James' lead I've finished what I started when I initiated integrating my blog posts from other websites, and inspired by The "Kohlhofer One File Method" I am now pulling my FriendFeed aggregated .net life trail into a minutiae section on this site, and mingled with the main feed.
It makes me happy how easily this slides into the structure for this site which I built in 2000... an hours work tweaking the input from FriendFeed and away we go!

[2008.11.03]
The fifth episode on Agrifashionista has just launched, William Pope L.'s take on Convenience Store culture in modern society, at times bemusing but generally thought provoking.

So long facebook...
[2008.11.01] It appears my Facebook account has been disabled. I am now persona non grata in their books. Not sure what I did - perhaps what I didn't do as I hardly use it. The last thing I did was to change my relationship status to 'engaged'... perhaps their misuse robot got jealous or something!?!
If you are inclined to send me stuff via Facebook, I won't get it. I'm not ignorning you, I'm just locked out. A man wrongly accused of a crime given no chance to defend his innocence. Innocent until proven guilty, not so in the digital world, where each application owner is a law unto themselve - something I am generally not opposed to, rather self regulation than governmental regulation.
I've sent a mail to them in hope of an explaination, but I'm not going to be putting much energy into persuing it, as by their actions they've just reassured me of what is wrong with monopolistic, closed, networks and why I should continue to live life on the edge. Hurrah!
Update:
It appears James has also been banned at the same time. I wonder if we both did something equally bad...

Economics: Cut out the Middle Man
[2008.10.27] Thought for the day: Given that it seems likely that any money I pay in tax this year is going to be given straight to the banks, why don't we cut out the middle man, save a lot of people a lot of pain, and just let us keep the money in our own bank accounts, rather than letting our government play the inverse-Robin-Hood game. Ah. If Only.
